With phones what drives me crazy more than anything else is the fact that they all use so many different types of connections, it would be nice if they are used the same connection like computers do with USB.

Well it looks like this time has come for the major phone brands as The Open Mobile Terminal Platform (OMTP) is pushing ahead with this idea.

They have confirmed that its members (including such phone brands as LG, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Samsung and Nokia) are going to adopt the common connector standard of micro-USB.

Think how much easier it will be to swap add-ons for many different phone brands like data connectors, speakers and chargers in the future.

Chargers is a big one for me, the amount of time I have lost my charger and found old chargers for many phones but not the current brand of phone I have.

Ok, I know there are multi chargers and usb charges now, but with the phone brands using a common connection it will be easier for us all from the start.
