Nokia N70 Music Edition
The N series seems pitched firmly at the business end of the market. The models we’ve seen support a huge number of connectivity options, email, advanced contact and schedule management and a good deal of extras to boot.
They all share a common operating system though, built on top of Symbian OS and called Series 60. It makes the N70 a stripped down version of the other, more uncompromising phones that comprise the N series. You can see it in the screen resolution, the lack of Wi-Fi and the removal of the shortcut key make it a more consumer orientated phone.
The consumer touches it does have, such as a cover for the two megapixel camera, the improved music player and included one gigabyte MiniSD card are welcome. Removing features like from the phone make the menu system lighter and much easier to navigate. It’s still slow to react and the 176 x 208 screen doesn’t render the screen as well as the higher end models that we have seen recently.
Sound quality during calls is good and the weight, dimensions and ergonomics feel right. Depending on your usage, the battery life can range from anywhere between two and four days, but we averaged between two and a half and three days on a single charge.
