Verizon Wireless and Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung) have announced the availability of the SCH-a870, a new value-inspired camera phone designed with the mobile family in mind.

The phone combines Samsung’s clamshell design with a host of capabilities such as Bluetooth wireless technology, speakerphone, location-based services such as VZ Navigator, VoiceSignal’s speech recognition, web browsing and camera and video functionality. In addition, for those interested in gaming, the phone comes with VibeTonz technology which will allow customers to download and feel the beat of games and ring tones.

The SCH-a870 is available now for US$49.99 after US$50 mail in rebate with a two-year customer agreement.
